WORK Inc., one of New England’s most progressive providers of services to adults and children with disabilities is seeking an exceptional person who is committed to work that makes life better for others. Currently, the WORK Inc. Solidaridad Family Support Center is looking for a full-time Family Support Specialist who will develop and coordinate a wide range of services and activities for families and individuals to participate in and enhance their well-being in order to strengthen and maintain their family cohesion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the Center’s plans, goals, and objectives for serving families and individuals.
  • Accompanying individuals to medical appointments and community based social activities.
  • Reaching out and making families and individuals feel welcome to be part of the Center.
  • Nurturing positive relationships and contacts with individuals, families, guardians, neighbors and other service providers.
  • Planning trainings, workshops, and social activities for families and individuals to participate.
  • Reserving in-house transportation and coordinating with families and individuals for attending Center events.
  • Partnering with other Family Support Centers and community organizations to make community events and resources available to families and individuals.
  • Assisting families with Spanish/English translation.
  • Translating written materials etc. from Spanish to English/English to Spanish.



  • Must possess excellent oral and written fluency in English and Spanish
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Social Work or related field, OR minimum three year’s experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
  • Available to work on Saturdays.
  • Acceptable driving record
